How to add a PDF schedule to Google Calendar
Published 2026-11-04
A season schedule or class timetable that only exists as a PDF is awkward to follow. Weektender reads the PDF and proposes the events, you check each one, and then you choose how they reach Google Calendar.
Import and review the PDF
Start a new import and upload the PDF. Text-based PDFs work best; a scanned image of a page may not contain readable text.
Weektender lists the events it found with their dates, times and places. Edit anything that looks wrong and skip anything you do not want. Events already on the calendar you pick are flagged as possible duplicates. Nothing is added until you confirm.
Option 1: save straight into a Google-hosted calendar
If you connect your Google account to Weektender, you can choose a calendar hosted by Google as the destination. Confirmed events are then written to that Google calendar and appear in Google Calendar like any other event.
Connecting Google for calendar access is a separate, explicit step from signing in with Google. Signing in with Google never gives Weektender access to your calendars.
Option 2: keep it on Weektender and subscribe from Google
Save the events to a Weektender-hosted calendar, switch on its subscription feed, and use the Add to Google Calendar button on the sharing page. The calendar stays private until you turn the feed or page on.
Google decides how often it re-checks a subscribed feed, so changes can take a while to show up.
Questions
Will the PDF import add events without asking?
No. Every proposed event waits for your review, and only the ones you confirm are added.
Do I have to connect Google?
No. Option 2 works with a Weektender-hosted calendar and a feed, and needs no Google connection.
